THE FOOD & SH*T POP-UP SERIES

Since September 2013, Food & Sh*t has hosted dinner parties on every 3rd Monday hosted Inay's Asian Pacific Cuisine in Seattle, WA. Rooted in the tradition of the communal home cooked Filipino dinner and potluck, each dinner showcases a different facet of Filipino flavors and techniques, sometimes experimenting with new interpretations of old classics, sometimes sticking to tried and true recipes passed down through generations. Every menu is a different story, and each course is a chapter told through food. 

What started out as a monthly dinner rotating in our friends' and families' homes has transformed into a monthly dinner party with old and new faces, and lots of laughter and music. It's an entry point for those yet unfamiliar with Filipino food, as well as a new experience for those already initiated. It is also a space where discussions about where our food comes from and how it is made are a central theme of each menu's story. 

The majority of our pop-up dinners have been reserved seating, prix-fixe multi-course menus with new dishes completely different from the previous one. Sadly, Inay's had closed permanently, but, thankfully, Food & Sh*t has been able to continue with 3rd Monday pop-up dinners hosted at Kraken Congee in Pioneer Square. At Kraken Congee, we've launched a new format under the menu name "The Comfort Room" featuring Filipino comfort food in a rotating seasonal a la carte menu.
